Two-thirds of Luxury Homeowners own one or more residences in addition to their primary.

Location of their primary residence:

57 percent suburbs

17 percent cities

26 percent other

Their next real estate purchase will be:

35 percent vacation home

20 percent luxury investment home

12 percent future retirement luxury home

33 percent other

71 percent are not impacted by the economy when buying and selling.

Features that many luxury consumers look for in their home purchases:

72 percent have a room in their home devoted almost exclusively to entertainment.

72 percent of respondents look for designer kitchens

50 percent find wine cellars important

Features which are gaining in popularity:

23 percent have heated floors

15 percent have a boat dock

11 percent possess bedroom kitchens

11 percent are furnished with indoor pools

10 percent have tennis courts, golf courses or putting greens

Of these luxury amenities listed above the majority all have to do with sports or in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. A full 43 percent of these current luxury homeowners state that they are considering relocating to be closer to recreational activities. With our Flathead Valley being known for such recreational treasures as Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake and Big Mountain Ski Resort, it is sure that it will continue to be a popular choice for the affluent buyers and investors alike.
